YSL Couture Blush in Rouge Saint Germain Review and Swatches

This is the prettiest blush I had seen in a long time and I wanted it to be my blush for this season. I picked up the shade Rouge Saint Germain, as the red tones were perfect for the fall and holiday season. It has gorgeous packaging and I love the new envelope design that the couture blushes come in. There are ten beautiful shades to choose from which come in satin and shimmer finishes. From the swatches on Sephora and YSL Beauté, this blush, in the shade Rouge Saint Germain is a bright pink red.
Unless, it really is not.
More on this and swatches on today's blog.

YVES SAINT LAURENT Vinyl Couture Mascara Review and Swatches

Hi everyone,
So I bought the newly relaunched YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara, back in early spring. It was launched last year as well (correct me if I am wrong) and then pulled back from the market due to safety/health concerns. The new formula got me interested and I've always loved this packaging, so decided to give this one a shot. Its a beautiful mascara, non irritating to the eye, holds on well to lashes throughout the day and lifts and curls as expected. However, there were some new unexpected issues that I never thought I would run into.

Hi everyone,

Finally we are soaking in the much need summer sun which also means its time to protect our skin from environmental stressors and incorporate beauty products that work well during this hot, dry and rainy season. Well, at least for Calgary its a couple of days of hot-dry weather, followed by crazy winds, followed by what seems like torrential rains!!  :D Its everything at the same time...more like the same week.
So I put together a slew of my favorites for this season and products I can't stop wearing because they work great for this weather. So here it goes...

YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in NU INTERDIT and GRENAT NO RULES - Review and Swatches

This revolutionary matte liquid lip stain from YSL promises tattoo like color that feel light on lips, high color impact and 8 hours of wear time. I was so delighted to get my hands on these because I was craving a non drying matte lipstick. My lips are just as dry (or more) as my skin and I would get anything that makes them look better. My usual picks are cream/satin finish formulas but I love the look of matte lips. There is something alluring about a matte lip - its powerful, mature and exudes a feeling of self satisfaction. Like 'I am not asking for attention with my shiny lips' kind of look. And I have been looking for shades that work for my skin tone and feel great on lips but most of the shades I liked were always out of stock. Even when I was at Sephora, swatching all of these shades in the Tatouage line, I loved the shade called No. 16 - Nude Emblem and it was out of stock of a full month. I had to give up and get something I felt I could use over the holiday season. The best thing about these lip stains is that they are so hydrating and feel so comfortable on lips. They might not be not completely matte and I have to layer for extra pigment because its a lip stain after all not a liquid lipstick. Will be talking more on this with tons of swatches to show.

Summer Beauty Favorites ft YSL, L'occitane, Make Up For Ever, Lancome, Clarins, Estee Lauder and more

Today I went to the mall to get color matched for a new foundation, since my skin has tanned quite a bit this summer and my Chanel Vitalumiere in 30 looks a touch light. So, I went to Sephora and The Bay and I am so disappointed because at Sephora I was matched with a shade which was too light and The Bay matched me with really brown orange foundation. I have no idea how my complexion can appear so different in the same day and actually during the same hour! May be its the store lighting that makes the difference. I have been pretty good on my skincare routine and have been using SPF based products so no sun burns so far.
I decided to share my favorite products for this summer in today's blog because I think they greatly helped me in keeping my skin healthy. Aviators are absolutely necessary to keep my eyes safe and the sun hat protects my hair and face. I have deliberately left out hair products because that would make this post much longer than it already is :)
Without further ado, here are all products I have thoroughly enjoyed this summer. Keep reading for review and photos...

YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain in 412 Rose Mix - Review and Swatches

My favorite kind of summer lips are bright and hydrated. I am always looking for products that moisturize my lips and keep them hydrated for as long as possible. No one wants chapped lips on a hot summer day, right? So, I was basically looking for a glossy stain when I found this guy. I was thinking about trying the new Dior lips stain or the NARS Powermatte but I couldn't find it anywhere and Eid was coming up so I needed a long lasting lip stain. The entire day, on Eid, is spent talking and eating and there is no time for touch ups and YSL Vinyl Cream  Lip Stain did not disappoint. I am so happy that this product stayed on my lips the whole day. It did loose some of its 'vinyl shine' and some pigment but overall it looked great.

WINTER SKINCARE FAVORITES - ft. L'Occitane, Nivea, Origins, Caudalie, Josie Maran and YSL

Its always so hard to pick my favorite skincare products and as you already know, my skin has been ultra sensitive and generally not doing great for quite a long time. However, there are some products that have helped me significantly and deserve to be showcased in a favorites post.
So, today I will share with you, skincare products that are suitable for all skin types and especially for sensitive skin. Writing this post has been difficult because there are no facial oils! I am literally restraining myself because I wanted this to be a guide for anyone who wants to take good care of their skin and would like to include some of these products in their everyday routine without worrying about side effects. I am extremely satisfied with each of these products so without further ado, lets move on to the details.

Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Cherry My Cherie Review and Swatch

This is my favorite lip product these days. I loved it during the summer months for a natural looking tint on my lips and I love it even more for the winter months. You can already guess that its a tinted lip oil and what could be so special about it? Its formulated with four essential oils for deep hydration: apricot kernel oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, and possiflora edulis seed oil. It makes my lips feel so smooth and look so moisturized. I love the look of youthful and nourished lips and this products helps me achieve that and a little rosy tint too.
The shade I am reviewing is actually my favorite shade form this line. There are 10 shades available in this line but no. 5 Cherry My Cherie is my favorite because its the most pigmented one and is great for anyone with pigmented lips. There is a very fine shimmer in almost all that I saw, but it a very subtle shimmer, just enough for a glossy appearance.
So let's get started with pics followed by a swatch and my review.

YSL Couture Palette in Afrique 03 Review and Swatches

I just finished packing all my makeup for vacation and I realized I have used this eye palette enough to share my review with you. We have just started to see snow in Calgary and it actually feels NICE, despite my strong dislike for the baggage that comes with snow (slushy roads, icy sidewalks, wet boots, gravel hitting the wind shield of my car and so on).
I swatched this palette in Sephora and I was immediately drawn to it. It has really beautiful warm neutrals. I was actually looking for the newer Couture Palettes: Nude Contouring and Rosy Contouring but I couldn't decide if those colours would work for me. I love hassle free makeup, however, I do lightly contour my face and eyes, so I wanted something with a good balance of colors - some light, some dark, some matte and some shimmer.
While swatching eyeshadows, a store assistant started to help me out and she confirmed that this palette will look great on my skin tone and eyecolor. I love it when I find a enabler in situations like this <3 I did like all the colors and the texture felt so smooth, I couldn't wait to start using it. So I bought this dream palette and now its a staple in my makeup routine. I love these shades because although they look shimmery they are not over the top and childish, they look very sophisticated and help me achieve a variety of looks.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick in 43 Rose Rive Gauche Review and Swatches

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I slept quite late last night because I was catching up on Quantico and O.M.G. what a gruesome episode it was! There is way too much violence in this season as compared to Season 1 which was all about mind games and putting the puzzle together. I decided yesterday, that I am not gonna watch it anymore. Its not a good show for me.

Anyways, so the weather in Calgary was so amazing this weekend!! (..lets talk about the weather cuz I am getting flash backs from last episode's murder scenes)
I went to Sephora and had a look at everything I wanted to buy and decided what I will purchase next weekend on the VIB Sale event.  Its from Nov 11-14th and you can get 20% off everything if you are a Sephora VIB!
Its not a usual thing for me because I usually plan online but I happened to be in the mall and I enjoyed planning my beauty haul. So next weekend is the time to stock up on my favorite things; one of which is this beautiful lipstick from YSL (say ee-sau-le-ron three times :D)
Its the Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-In-Stick lipstick and I think this was launched for spring this year. I definitely did not consider this one because I had the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo, which is almost the same product. A lot more pigmented may be. Or I might have to try the darker shades of Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-In-Stick lipstick.
So the shade I picked is No. 43- Rose Rive Gauche. I googled and Rive Gauche is the southern bank of the river Seine in Paris. So it's probably inspired by the roses of Rive Gauche. I don't know for sure. Its described as a smoky rose and I would say its an adorable shade for everyday use as well as for any time of the day. Its a gorgeous shade of pink and in the swatches you will see how amazing the formula is. Yes! This time, there are swatches for formula!
