I am always so excited about gift sets because I get some really amazing products at great prices but this just went up a notch. Usually there is a mini and a full size mascara in a holiday gift set but this is so much better! DIORSHOW Iconic Overcurl Mascara and Maximizer 3D - Review and Swatches

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara (CAD 38 for 9.5gm) has been part of my makeup routine for the past six months and today I wanted to share this cult favorite mascara on my blog because its pretty darn good! I purchased two of these gift sets during the holiday sale at Sephora and I am so happy I did because its a fantastic fail-proof mascara to use on an everyday basis. I layer the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara with the Maximizer 3D (which is a voluminizing primer included in this set), to get sky high lashes when I feel like getting some extra volume. This is hands down a must have mascara for anyone seeking full volume clump free lashes with a nice curl. The wand does a great job in achieving those results so I have included photos of that along with my swatches with the Overcurl Mascara and the Maximizer 3D primer so you can see the difference for yourself.

NARS Climax Mascara Review

Hello lovelies, 

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving followed by shopping Black Friday deals! I did all my shopping online and those Black Friday deals will continue into the weekend for most retailers so there is still time if you need to order something. 

I wanted to quickly share a mascara that really amazed me. It is none other than the NARS Climax Mascara which retails for $32 at Sephora and is also available in the mini size for $17 so you can still try it out or add to a stocking stuffer. This mascara gave me the most clump free lashes ever. It adds volume and gives them a nice lift and curl.

Dior Pump 'N' Volume Mascara & Lipstick Set Review and Swatches

One of the most coveted gift sets at Sephora, mainly due to its affordability as a gift under $50 and because it offers two iconic Dior products - the Pump 'N' Volume HD Mascara and the beautiful mini Rouge Dior lipstick. A beautiful red lip and a mascara that promises clump free 'XXL lashes' is definitely the look many of us would sport this holiday season. With the fear of smearing red lipstick all over my face due to masks, I have started to carry my lipstick in my purse, only to quickly apply when I remove my mask and dab off in a napkin before I put my mask on again. I find long lasting lipsticks like the Givenchy Deep Velvets great for this (reviewed here), as they leave a lovely stain on my lips, however, if I am carrying a clutch bag, then I would prefer a mini lipstick and what better lipstick can I carry than the classic Rouge Dior 999.

Burt's Bees 100% Natural Makeup and Skincare Review with Swatches

Around six or seven years ago, I was really in to natural makeup and tried so many mineral makeup brands and even shared some on this blog. Gradually, I moved away from that because they were mostly available only online and I could never be sure if I got the right shade nor were there enough online swatches. So, recently I came across Burt's Bees natural makeup line, which is available at London Drugs and almost all drugstores. I was so excited to try it out, because I love using natural products on my skin. Each of these products is 100% natural except the brow pencil which is 99.9% natural. 

A lot of you must already be using the Burt's Bees lip balm and so was I but I never explore the body care or the skincare products from Burt's Bees and I was missing out on a lot! I literally found  a solution to the eczema on my hands. I am also using the Hand Salve these days but will save that for another review.

YVES SAINT LAURENT Vinyl Couture Mascara Review and Swatches

Hi everyone,

So I bought the newly relaunched YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara, back in early spring. It was launched last year as well (correct me if I am wrong) and then pulled back from the market due to safety/health concerns. The new formula got me interested and I've always loved this packaging, so decided to give this one a shot. Its a beautiful mascara, non irritating to the eye, holds on well to lashes throughout the day and lifts and curls as expected. However, there were some new unexpected issues that I never thought I would run into.

Finally we are soaking in the much need summer sun which also means its time to protect our skin from environmental stressors and incorporate beauty products that work well during this hot, dry and rainy season. Well, at least for Calgary its a couple of days of hot-dry weather, followed by crazy winds, followed by what seems like torrential rains!!  :D Its everything at the same time...more like the same week. 

So I put together a slew of my favorites for this season and products I can't stop wearing because they work great for this weather. So here it goes...

GIVENCHY Noir Interdit Mascara Review and Swatches

The epitome of luxury beauty! Givenchy slays with its packaging every, single time. This beautifully presented mascara is a delight to see on the vanity and on my lashes. It lifts and lengthens the lashes and its perfumed! Love the 90 degrees bendable brush, which has been a pro secret for long. I have bent the wand in the past and have loved the precise application so I am very excited to see this feature available in this truly luxurious and high quality mascara.

Finally I met Monsieur Big! Thank you Chick Advisor for sending this my way because I was badly in need of one! haha! Its hard to find a mascara formula that checks off almost everything on my wishlist. Its the newest mascara from Lancome called Monsieur Big and its so hyped up on social media for all the good reasons. More on this in the review today...

GUERLAIN Maxi Lash Mascara Set Review and Swatches

I got this mascara set during the Sephora VIB Sale last month and it seemed like a good deal which includes the Maxi Lash mascara and a mini eye firming cream and toner. This is my first Guerlain mascara ever and its weird because I have only ever used Guerlain's meteorites and nothing else! Some brands are perhaps not as attractive to me. Majorly because  I was rejoicing my love affair with the Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara and I still feel that is the best one I have tried so far.  

Anyways, so lately I am thinking a lot about my under eye area and how I can make it look better. I am hoping to like the mini eye firming cream because the full size is quite expensive and it better deliver some results. 

Guerlain's Maxi Lash Mascara looks quite old fashioned to me. It has a soft bristle brush and I used to love them but the technology in mascara formula, wands and bristles has come a long way now; this felt like a dated version that still hasn't been pulled out of market. A lot of people love the Maxi Lash Mascara and I understand that because there are good results. You have to see the swatches to find out if it truly lives up to the higher end expectations.

DIOR Addict It-Lash Mascara Review and Swatches

Its been long since I logged in to share my beauty obsessions with you all and I was away for good reasons. I have been travelling, cooking/eating and volunteering at my community library. It's great fun to be able to meet with people from all backgrounds and help them do what I love doing- writing!
I once wanted to write a novel and I had even written 20 pages of it on MS Word before I got busy with something else. It is so weird, now that I am in the 3rd decade of my life, that feeling of wanting to write a novel, is coming back. Life is so much fun when there are new friends, new things and new hobbies to explore regularly (if not daily) . Yes, I have made some new friends too and I dearly miss my old ones and hope to reconnect with them some time.

Anyways, so today, I will share with you a mascara that has remained so faithful to my lashes all of this time. Its a relatively new mascara for me, because I was always afraid to try out a Dior product. The fear of mostly walking to the Dior counter and being the only 'younger' customer. I don't even understand, why are there so many older ladies at the Dior counter and not at MAC or even Chanel or any other brand for that matter? So anyways, that's why I love shopping at Sephora because there are no counters and no sales person looking at your face as you try out a product and waiting for you to buy it. It just doesn't feel right, especially in this day and age.
So I bought the first one of Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara from The Bay and then I just order online at Sephora and I get a ton of samples using all the codes they send me in emails. And trust me I hardly use them. I would probably use only the facewash or the perfume ones..

The Dior Addict It-Lash mascara was more like an impulse purchase. A crime. I know. I fell in love with how easy it was to use and how much of a difference it can make to my lashes (you will see in the pictures at the end).

blinc Box Discovery Collection ft. Mascara Amplified, Eyebrow Mousse, Eyeshadow Primer and Eyeliner Pencil

I have been trying out the blinc Box for the past couple of weeks and I couldn't wait to share it with you. It features four water proof, smudge proof and life proof products! They are for real. I tested them out with the spray bottle and also in the shower and the pool. The results were quite spectacular. However, I do have my favorites and not so favorite products in this box. So without further ado, let's move on to the pictures and my review.

MARC JACOBS Velvet Noir Mascara Review and Swatches

That luxurious packaging and a ton of hype motivated me to purchase this mascara from Sephora. I was looking for something dramatic for my lashes because I do not wear falsies. So, words like "major drama" hits me at the right spots and Velvet Noir Mascara's overall branding is so spot on, who is not gonna get one?
Anyways, I really took my time to evaluate this mascara on how it treats my lashes and how long it lasts and I am quite surprised at the results.
