As we are quickly approaching the holidays, I wanted to share this superstar combo for flawless skin all day long. I started using the Estee Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance Watery Glow Primer a few months ago and I was amazed at how it keeps my skin looking fresh no matter what the weather might be. I have used this in humidity, as well as in Calgary's super dry weather and I loved the results so much that I must share my experience for you. I love using this primer with my all time favorite foundation - Estee Lauder Double Wear and currently I am using the shade Tawny (review here)

SKINCARE Favorites 2020 - What to do when our skin is stressed out?

This year had been a heck of a ride - from getting my PayPal hacked to receiving spoof/phishing emails, getting impersonated online, dealing with Instagram/social media scammers and finally an enforcement notice from Adsense! I guess I have seen all kinds of stress that a blogger can imagine! Oh yes and the pandemic we are all living in, is an all encompassing stressor which has exposed how misinformation, fear and panic affects our society and changes consumer behaviour across the globe. Until last year, I was keen on recycling and questioned every bit of plastic or non-paper packaging for my beauty products but this year disposables were on my mind. Using alcohol sanitizers, when I always use non alcoholic ones (yes that is a thing, in case you are wondering :D) and what the heck is the difference between the microorganisms they can kill?! 

In all this uncertainty and anxiety my skin suffered the most. I would workout on most days, go for a run, talk to my friends and family and above all, sanitize everything with wipes and disinfectant sprays often exposing my hands and face to irritants and abrasive chemicals. I also washed myself everyday - because COVID misinformation was/is real! After returning home from groceries, dental appointment, workout routine or even after just a walk around the neighbourhood, I felt the need to shower with an aim for removing any germs that might have been caught in my pores, my hair or anywhere on my body!!! 

My skin suffered this abuse and it did not like it - it reacted! This post is about all the skincare products, I used throughout 2020 and how my skin went through phases of healing, irritation, pores to being poreless and finally at a happy place.

This is the one serum that has always worked for my skin type, which is seldom sensitive, and as the days grow colder and drier, I am relying on the Estee Lauder ANR to keep my skin glowy, bouncy, youthful and completely hydrated.

ESTÉE LAUDER Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in Wheat 3N2 Review and Swatches

As I tan in the summer, my skin gets a more pink/orange hue, and that makes the shade Wheat 3N2 match perfectly to my skin. Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Wheat 3N2 is a medium shade with neutral undertone and works great as a summer foundation for me. I had been using the shade Tawny 3W1 for many years (click for review), but in the past couple of years as I travel to sunnier destinations, my tan stays on pretty much all year long. So Tawny did not work for me anymore, as its slightly lighter, more golden toned shade. 

In this post I have added side-by-side comparison swatches of Tawny 3W1 and Wheat 3N2, so you can clearly see the difference in the undertones and the shades. You already know, that I love this foundation and have always raved about this formula, so without further ado, I will quickly move to the review...

ESTEE LAUDER DoubleWear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner in 01 Kohl Noir - Review and Swatch

Fall is around the corner and I am slowly moving towards darker, bolder hues in makeup and accessories. There is something about a dark, black eye liner that makes it such a staple in everyone's makeup stash. I am still in love with Stila's Smudge sticks and I can't imagine switching but this Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner from Estee Lauder is a wonderful option. 

I have been using this for a month now and I am quite happy with it. The month of August was exceptionally hot this year but the DoubleWear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner held up well through the heat and sweat (I even wore it to gym). There is something weird about makeup at the gym; firstly you look great every time you catch a glimpse of yourself working out, but on the other hand it is gross to see your makeup melting off with sweat and transferring to the gym equipment/mats/floor - wherever you roll :D:D Just for the record, I never wear makeup to the gym.. I am completely bare faced at the gym. Its a waterproof formula so it sticks around if I do not use an eye makeup remover. So I leave that task for night time. More on this below: 

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Tawny 3W1 Review and Swatches

I am a huge fan of sheer, luminous foundation formulas, so committing to a full 30ml bottle of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation was difficult. I was looking for something that would stay fresh all day long no matter what the weather looks like. Its so unpredictable! I honestly feel half of my day is spent talking about the weather and how I woke up to 8°C and at lunch hour it was 23°C and its expected to touch 28°C! Like, seriously?!

So, my skin is acting weird because its so hot one day and then rain showers the next followed by smoke and spells of dryness. I also got a lot of tan on my nose bridge and forehead so, my foundations were not really helping me. I thought about a BB cream but most of them get oily half way through the day. My sister recommended the Double Wear  Foundation to me because it never gets oily, nor does it transfer! And seriously, that is 100% true! Its probably the best foundation for oily skin because it stays put perfectly all day long. And after trying a sample, I was sold! Summer Beauty Favorites ft YSL, L'occitane, Make Up For Ever, Lancome, Clarins, Estee Lauder and more

Today I went to the mall to get color matched for a new foundation, since my skin has tanned quite a bit this summer and my Chanel Vitalumiere in 30 looks a touch light. So, I went to Sephora and The Bay and I am so disappointed because at Sephora I was matched with a shade which was too light and The Bay matched me with really brown orange foundation. I have no idea how my complexion can appear so different in the same day and actually during the same hour! May be its the store lighting that makes the difference. I have been pretty good on my skincare routine and have been using SPF based products so no sun burns so far. 

I decided to share my favorite products for this summer in today's blog because I think they greatly helped me in keeping my skin healthy. Aviators are absolutely necessary to keep my eyes safe and the sun hat protects my hair and face. I have deliberately left out hair products because that would make this post much longer than it already is :)

For the past couple of months I have been using the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Eye Gelee on my under eye area and I felt today was the day to share the results of this new product with you all. I am slowly getting used to the morning glow that is noticeable enough for my personal trainer to comment that my skin "looks good". May be she assumed its due to her workout recommendations, but I know its all because of this little bottle of beauty oil that I have been using for six weeks! I believe in the magical powers of a primer and there isn't a day when I'm not using one.
