GIVENCHY Le Rouge Deep Velvet Matte Lipstick Review and Swatches

If you are looking for the creamiest, most pigmented and the most luxurious matte lipstick for yourself or as a gift for your loved one, then look no further! You have come to the right place to discover this amazing line up of Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet. Its the most perfect matte lipstick I have used in the  longest and its the one lipstick we all need this holiday season!

When I saw this red velvet packaging, my first thought was this is all about the holidays and jingle bells but you have to check out the holiday edition of Deep Velvet - because that is absolutely gorgeous. To me it seems like the Givenchy Le Rouge got a makeover in a red velvet dress which is a refreshing change from the leather cases which I love and collect.

What impressed me the most is the creamy matte formula and the high pigmentation of Le Rouge Deep Velvet. This lasted me a full day and left a lovely stain on my lips. I was a little apprehensive that my lipstick would smear under the mask so I applied it lightly and went to the mall. When I removed my mask, I was relieved that it did not transfer much to the mask and stayed nicely on my lips. So please with how long lasting and transfer resistant this formula is.

Though described as a 'powdery-matte finish', on me the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet  looks completely matte and not quite as powdery, while the creamy formula makes it very comfortable to wear all day long, without making my lips feel dry. I absolutely love long lasting lipsticks like the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet that are transfer resistant and still easily remove with micellar water. Each one of these lipsticks results in highly saturated color payoff that never needs a second coat. I think Givenchy has set the standard very high for other matte lipsticks with the Le Rouge Deep Velvets collection!

Rouge Initié
Described as a brick red color, the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet in 35 - Rouge Initié  has been a staple in my Fall wardrobe. It is a beautiful warm orange toned red that is so saturated in color that even a single coat is often enough to warm up my complexion on a cold morning. This color works for all outfits and all skintones.

L'interdit
The forbidden red - this classic red shade is a must have for the upcoming holiday season. This is the kind of shade that looks great on my neutral-medium complexion and pairs well with a golden, shimmery eye makeup. I can't wait to wear more of this during the festive season.

Rouge Infusé
A pink lipstick lover's dream!! This stunning reddish pink is a bold take on the usual pink lipsticks we are used to seeing. I love how playful and flamboyant this color looks on lips. It adds a touch of youthfulness on my face and I often apply this just to energize myself in the morning. This is the shade I am often found wearing at home because its the right mix of red and pink, that makes my face look balanced and defined (which is so important in video calls - at least for me)

Overall, I love the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet Matte Lipsticks mainly because they have a matte finish without the dryness and comes in a variety of wearable reds and pinks. It feels very comfortable on lips and does not transfer as much as other fully pigmented lipsticks do. When I am planning to go outside, I just dab a little on my lips and wear it under the mask to get minimal transfer on the mask. Its so pigmented and full coverage that even a single swipe is enough, however, if I am heading out for lunch or dinner I do layer it on so I never need to reapply. It stays on perfectly without fading for the whole day!

I absolutely love the Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet Matte Lipsticks and I highly recommend you all to try these out or get it as a gift for a loved one! They are available at Sephora for $49 for this luxuriously packaged, high quality long lasting and highly pigmented lipstick.
