Summer Beauty Favorites ft Givenchy, YSL, La Prairie and more

Finally we are soaking in the much need summer sun which also means its time to protect our skin from environmental stressors and incorporate beauty products that work well during this hot, dry and rainy season. Well, at least for Calgary its a couple of days of hot-dry weather, followed by crazy winds, followed by what seems like torrential rains!!  :D Its everything at the same time...more like the same week. 

So I put together a slew of my favorites for this season and products I can't stop wearing because they work great for this weather. So here it goes...

GIVENCHY Gloss Interdit Vinyl in 01 Rose Révélateur and 16 Noir Révélateur - Review and Swatches

The all new Gloss Interdit is extremely shiny, deliciously fragrant and long wearing! Probably the only time I used the word "long wearing" for a lip gloss because I was shocked that I had absolutely no need to touch up for 5 hours! The two shades I am sharing today can be used as a topper or on its own. I like to use it as a topper on lipstick and that is how I get the most longevity out of these. They intensify the lip color and makes it luminous and shiny, especially with the shade 16 - Noir Revelateur, the results are stunning!! Both shades are described as made-to-measure color booster that enhances lip color by reacting with skin's pH so everyone gets a different result.

DIOR Addict Ultra Gloss in 643 EVERDIOR Review and Swatches

I never wear a lip gloss and this was such an impulse purchase for me but I am glad I did. I was looking for lip gloss sets as holiday gifts and had my eyes on this set from Bobbi Brown but then I went to Sephora to stock up on my HG concealers and eyeliners during the VIB Sale and found these beautiful lipglosses. I was attracted to the packaging (lets be honest) but then I swatched it and the texture seemed very smooth, non sticky and the glitter was so evenly distributed. So I bought it with doubt that this will soon be returned and I didn't even photograph it until today. The shade I picked is a coral with golden glitter. Its called EVERDIOR. I also loved another one called DIORAMA which I am totally picking when I am at Sephora again. Diorama is a mauvy pink and I have had a similar shade long time ago from Marc Jacobs, so I know that shade works for me, and swatching all the glosses in store made me feel like a teen again. I only wore lip glosses during my teens and well into my twenties, until I started working and a shiny gloss seemed rather immature at work. But during the holidays, I love sparkles and anything shiny is on my list. This also makes a nice topper for nude lipstick or just about any lipstick.

Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Cherry My Cherie Review and Swatch

This is my favorite lip product these days. I loved it during the summer months for a natural looking tint on my lips and I love it even more for the winter months. You can already guess that its a tinted lip oil and what could be so special about it? Its formulated with four essential oils for deep hydration: apricot kernel oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, and possiflora edulis seed oil. It makes my lips feel so smooth and look so moisturized. I love the look of youthful and nourished lips and this products helps me achieve that and a little rosy tint too.
The shade I am reviewing is actually my favorite shade form this line. There are 10 shades available in this line but no. 5 Cherry My Cherie is my favorite because its the most pigmented one and is great for anyone with pigmented lips. There is a very fine shimmer in almost all that I saw, but it a very subtle shimmer, just enough for a glossy appearance.

Yes! They are pink!

I can't fall in love with any other lip color and literally, I have so many shades of pink lipsticks, its hard to pick up favorites but still shortlisted them down to these two and a gloss that is so pigmented - its liquid lipstick for me.

Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss, Burberry Kisses & Givenchy Rouge Inderdit

These are my favorite lipsticks, not only because of the shades but the formulation on these is top notch. I have to still find a lipstick/gloss that compares to these in pigment, texture and application. All three of these are permanent and available at Sephora and The Bay.

TEASE ME Passionate Berry Lip Trio - Inspired by the movie Fifty Shades of Grey - Review and Swatches

The limited edition Spring 2015 makeup collection by Make Up For Ever is inspired by the movie Fifty Shades of Grey (to be launched on Feb 13, 2015)
I will share with you the  Tease Me Lip Set from this collection, which is inspired by the beauty looks of the character, Ana. 
Tease Me Lip Set comes in two variations - Innocent and Passionate. Innocent has nude colors, while Passionate has berry tones, which capture the sultry, passionate side of Ana.

CHANEL Rouge Allure Gloss in 13 Affriolant Review and Swatches

You guys know that I rarely apply glosses - I just don't like the heavy feel of them. I much prefer lip lacquers because they are long lasting and they have a lot more pigment in them. When I applied this gloss the first time at Chanel counter, I was head over heels for it. 

The new Rouge Allure Gloss has the same packaging as the Rouge Allure Lipstick - where you click the top to open it up. Love this packaging and what's more important is that the product inside is worth every single penny. And that means a lot, when its coming from a 'gloss averse' person like me!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Review and Swatches

So today is the day, when I finally got all my pictures together to share with you this amazing new launch from Rimmel - Apocalips Lip Lacquer! Ever heard of lip lacquers before? Lip paint, may be? But trust me this just blew me away!! Whether you call it liquid lipstick or lip gloss or both combined, this is one helluva product to own. I absolutely love them and I feel so proud to share my favorites with you guys!

I have two shades with me today, called Nova and Light Year. And just look at those tubes! The packaging is enough to make me own one.. love those jagged edges and a black color code.

Quo Endless Beauty Deluxe Cosmetic Palette - Review and Swatches

Quo is a cosmetic brand available exclusively at the Shoppers Drug Mart. I won a Mother's Day giveaway at http://www.beautycrazed.ca/ and this was the winning prize! I felt really lucky to get this huge palette! Its the biggest makeup palette I have ever had and I am so glad the quality is so amazing! It makes me think that some brands should not be underestimated as a drug store brand.
