KORRES Wild Rose Petal Soft Cream Exfoliator Review

I am still one of those who like a good old face scrub because I love how clean and soft it makes my skin feel instantly. I like to use chemical exfoliants but I feel they can be too much for my dry skin and I almost always come back to physical exfoliants like this one because it does the job!

Today I will be sharing my favourite scrub for the past two years - its funny how I rarely share the products that I use on the regular and repurchase all the time. But today is different - today I will share my favourite scrub and I don't even care if anyone judges me for picking this up instead of a chemical peel, or an AHA/BHA toner/serum! The Korres Wild Rose Petal Soft Cream Exfoliator promises to buff away dead, dry skin to reveal a visibly bright, glowing, and smooth complexion every morning. I usually use it at night because mornings are too busy and I follow with a Korres night cream which I will share in another post.

REN Clean Skincare - Glow One Step Further Set - Daily AHA Tonic, Glycolic Renewal Mask & Vitamin C Gel Cream Review

I have been a huge fan of REN Clean Skincare for quite a long time, but since I always began using these as soon as I brought these home, it was impossible to take good pictures for the blog. The Daily AHA Toner is my favorite for the past two years and I have purchased this several times, but couldn't really share it on the blog. Even in today's post all of these products are half empty - or shall I say half used, but I still managed to gather myself to post these because you NEED to know about these extraordinary products.
My journey with Vitamin C products isn't a nice one. I developed an allergic reaction to some Vitamin C serums in the past, after which I was scared to even try Vitamin C products ever again. When you get acne at 30 and it scars your skin, you feel like all the time you spent as a teenager taking care of your skin is wasted. Its devastating and I was sure I am never going back down that route.
So, if I used retinol treatment at night, do I do the quintessential Vitamin C routine in the morning? We know the drill - retinol at night, vitamin C in the morning and SPF, but how do I do that? I began using water creams, gel formulas and generally anything calming for my skin for years before I was confident I am ready for Vitamin C products again. At age 36 I need that glow! Hyperpigmentation is real and I needed some kind of acids in my routine! So I trusted this clean skincare line, which is vegan, created without the regular toxins, marked 'Clean at Sephora' and BINGO! Sold! My love for Ren Skincare began with its Vitamin C products because it worked for my skin and I am so happy to finally share and recommend a vitamin C skincare range with you :)

TATCHA The Deep Cleanse Review and Result

 Hello my lovelies!

Today's post is a little bit different. I am not going to rant at how awful Tatcha's The Deep Cleanse is for my skin, but I will show you what a hyped up product on social media can do to your skin. My skin was doing fairly well with no acne or dryness. I was on a Guerlain Abeille Royale routine for morning and night and I felt good about it. After I ran out of my favorite Dr. Dennis AHA peeling pads, I decided to give physical exfoliant a chance, but I did not want just any exfoliant - I wanted a high quality product for my skin. So, a quick social media scan and I was sold that Tatcha's exfoliating products are great for pore cleansing and loved by so many "influencers". I have detailed my experience on why this product is not worth my time and money and also included a picture of the reaction I had on my face.

DIOR CAPTURE YOUTH New Skin Effect Enzyme Solution Age-Delay Resurfacing Water REVIEW

I had been looking for a multi purpose product like this one for a long time. The Dior Capture Youth Enzyme Solution is not just a toner,  but can be used as a face mask too. It is designed to be used in conjunction with other Dior Capture Youth products and I shall detail that routine below but first I need to highlight what it promises.

The Dior Capture Youth Enzyme Water promises to clarify, brighten, hydrate the skin, delay the signs of aging and leave it feeling silky soft. The efficacy of this product was measured in clinical trials with only 32 women and even then only 12% (4 out of 32) felt that it improved the appearance of skin and only 14% (5 out of 32 women) felt that skin was brighter and worse of all, only 26% (8 out of 32 women) described their skin as softer! (Source: Sephora.comThese disparaging stats did not deter me from trying it.

So did I became part of the 14% or 12% or 26 % who saw some kind of promised results or not? Let's find out!!

Origins Never a Dull Moment Skin-Brightening Face Polisher Review

I bought this Origins Skin Brightening Face Polisher because I wanted a 'grainy scrub', after months of chemical exfoliation only. Sometimes I just want to feel that 'sloughing' on my skin! I hope you understand that feeling of physical exfoliation. So started looking for scrubs that were good for normal/dry skin. After reading the ingredient list on the Origins Never a Dull Moment Skin-Brightening Face Polisher, I was intrigued by the effects of bitter orange flower water on my skin. I have kept myself away from Vitamin C based products because for my skin type, I need to use them exclusively or I run into sensitivities and breakouts. I love the effects of lemon sugar scrub on my skin, so I wanted to give this one a try.

DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel Review

Its hard for me to waste even a single day of summer time in Calgary, so I am always looking for fun things to do at home and outside. The city looks beautiful in summer time and I can't get enough of all the blooms and greenery all around me. When I moved to Calgary, I would tell my friends that this city looks like a resort - its well kept, with beautiful public spaces and relatively less people to share it with. Having nearly 8 months of winter, I obviously look forward to the summer months but that brings new challenges for skincare - especially sun spots!! And they are so hard to get rid off.
Since I had always been a fan of Dr Dennis Gross's skincare line, I wanted this Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel to exfoliate my skin and lighten the dark spots. I have a good amount of acne scarring from the past three years that seems to darken a bit more under the sun, so I am on to all kinds of facial peels even lemon juice!
So, when Sephora Canada offered a box of 3 peels as a 100 point perk, I picked up as many of them as possible. I got over a month's supply of high quality facial peels for free and that is the only reason I save my points at Sephora and spend them at something amazing like this!

More on this, how to use and the results in today's blog.
