Mineral Hygienics Eyeshadows in Java Gold and Pink Champagne - Review and Swatches

Hello,
I am back with another set of mineral eyeshadows and a sable hair full eyeshadow brush by Mineral Hygienics. I have shared with you their starter kit which included a kabuki brush (natural fibre), foundation, perfecting powder and a bronzer. So today, I have some of their eye products to review for you. Before I start let me remind you of the benefits of mineral makeup, so you know why I love it. Here's why?

MY EXPERIENCE

MINERAL EYESHADOWS
Since, I had an amazing experience with Mineral Hygienics starter kit, I was eager to try out their eye products. (I have their mascara and eye liner too, that I shall review soon). You may have noticed me whining over the mess loose pigments can create while applying; they fall on my cheeks and my dresser. But thankfully these eyeshadow pots have such small holes that very less amount of shadow is released every time I tap it to use. This also allows me to pick the right amount of shadow in the brush.

The texture is pretty smooth, although both shades are insanely shimmery, they don't feel gritty nor does the glitter look chunky. I prefer using a primer before applying loose pigments. Some people use a wet brush, but I feel using shadows wet, can crease after they dry.
The color pay off is great. I have swatched them without a primer in the pic above and you can see that there is a lot of pigment in there.

Talking about the shades:

Java Gold is described as a striking amber toned shimmery iridescent eye shadow. To me, it is the ultimate warm toned golden shade. Its from the Mocha Collection that offers gorgeous rustic shades.

Pink champagne is a cool toned light pink shade that makes a great neutral shade for daily use. I have this shade in so many palettes and I feel this is unique entirely due to the shimmer it adds to my lids. Its described as pale gold that finishes as a caramel-blonde with Silver-toned shimmer. Its part of Sheer Illumination Collection.

I usually wear these over a black eye shadow base to add the ultimate shine to the center of my lids. Moreover, they are perfectly neutral colors and if used with moderation can be great for daily use.

FULL EYE SHADOW BRUSH
This is a sable haired brush which is considered the best in natural brushes. This brush is slightly wider than the other full eye shadow brushes and is also pretty densely packed. It has round tapers, as you can see in the pics. I use this for pressed and loose pigments and it works great. It blends shadows very well. One of the things, I have known about natural fiber brushes is to never wash them by soaking in soapy water. They get a bad odor. So, I always wipe this with makeup removing wipes after use. Its the cheapest and most effective way to spot clean.

The eye shadows are for $13 each and Full Eyeshadow Brush is for $14. They can be purchased from http://www.mineralhygienics.com You can get 10% off your order if you use the code: ruqaiyakhan (valid till Nov 2012)
