GUERLAIN Rouge G Customizable Lipstick in No.40 and Golden Ruby Case - Review and Swatches

So close to the holidays, I can almost smell it. It feels great to finally feel a little festive, to enjoy the season, while still following all the health guidelines. I am sure, we will get through this safely and to brighten up the mood and spread a little holiday cheer, let me share that the Holiday 2020 goodies are mind blowing!!! Limited edition collections this year are so much more beautiful than ever before, and I cannot wait to get my hands on more of these!
Today I am sharing a really special piece by Guerlain which is launched just for the holidays. It's the Guerlain Rouge G in shade 40 and the Rouge G Case in Golden Ruby. These crystal studded lipstick cases are so luxurious! I haven't seen anything like this before and I am so glad to own a Rouge G in this special holiday case.
More on this beautiful holiday lipstick by Guerlain in today's blog!

This holiday season, Guerlain has launched the Golden Bee Collection which features an eyeshadow palette, holiday Meteorites, Terracotta Golden Bee Bronzer, the Rouge G in 2 shades and the shimmering rhinestone studded cases in Golden Ruby (red and gold) and Golden Diamond (gold and silver). I picked the Rouge G lipstick because I am a lipstick lover - cant even count how many lipsticks I own and the holiday cases are hard to resist. :oD

Anyways, so just out of the packaging, this is what you get. The rouge G refill comes with a plastic lid and the Rouge G case comes in a velvet pouch.  I love how I can protect this lipstick in a velvet pouch and that should also help prevent any damages or scratches to this luxurious case.

The holiday Rouge G in the shade No. 40, is a matte coral-pink shade that looks lovely with an intense eye look. I love how brightening this looks on my complexion and I can not wait to wear it more often during the holidays.
Though its a matte finish, the formula warms up on my lips for a creamy finish and once set, it does not fade and lasts me all day. Today, I decided to see if this can hold up to my breakfast and I am so happy that it stayed put and fades to a beautiful pink stain, that looks very youthful. I also lightly dab this lipstick and it stays like a light stain on lips which looks great too. I can always layer on and I am waiting for an opportunity to pull it out of my bag in front of my friends (obviously not possible in these times :()! It will be such a conservation starter!  Absolutely love it!

SWATCHES
I did these swatches without any lip balm on my lips and you can see that shade No. 40 looks quite even in application. I felt that when I applied this lipstick, it seemed to cling to dryness on my lips but in a couple of minutes, this formula slowly warms up to give this beautiful even finish.
I applied two layers of this lipstick for the swatches below, to get the full color payoff as it is a medium coverage lipstick but builds to a full coverage.

Here are some comparison swatches with the coral lipsticks I have in my rotation, so you can better understand the warm-neutral undertone of this lipstick. I feel most skin tones and undertones can rock this lipcolor.

Hope you enjoyed reading this blog and getting up close with the Holiday Rouge G and the Rouge G Case in Golden Ruby. They are available at Sephora, Hudson's Bay and other major retailers. I would highly recommend getting a hold of this stunning holiday Rouge G case - its definitely a collector's item and with so many Rouge G shades available, I can always switch up the refill according to seasons!
