Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder Foundation in Shade 4 - Review

"An oil-free, award-winning, lightweight powder foundation with a radiant, luminous finish. "
This is how it is described on Sephora's website, however, my experience with this powder foundation was rather underwhelming. I could not believe how sheer this so-called "powder foundation" could be.
I would not even have mentioned it here but something so pricey and with generally rave reviews, needed my two cents.

Swatch - Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder Foundation in shade 4
The swatch above is several layers of the foundation and even then it barely shows up. The powder oxidizes almost instantly. I would have gone with a Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in the shade 5 or 5.5 but the powder that matched me in Sephora store was a shade 4 because clearly it was oxidized on the surface.
Now lets talk about the good things first. Its definitely a very soft, silky powder that leaves a velvety feel on skin. That's about it.
The things that literally made me return it to Sephora were firstly, it has zero pigmentation. I did not see it anywhere on my skin. I sure could feel it, but it was translucent. It covered nothing even after several coats. Secondly, the quantity is literally half of my holy grail Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Finish Powder Foundation which lasted me almost a year! And it was so pigmented that I never layered it on. Unfortunately, Sephora does not carry it any more and that's when I decided to get the Giorgio Armani's powder foundation and made the splurge during the 20% off VIB sale. It hurts to return anything I had planned for and purchased during the sale.
I even tried the dual surface sponge the way it was mentioned on the instructions. I could not get it to work for me. Even the packaging is so plastic and felt fragile.

Overall, I feel this powder foundation is no where close to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation . It can be best used on top of another foundation as a finishing product. Its not a foundation on its own.

Available at Sephora.ca and Sephora stores for C$68 for 0.31oz.
