Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in 12 Sensual Rose Review and Swatch

I have immense respect for 'truly' moisturizing lipsticks, and, as I was slightly underwhelmed by the formula of Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick, I decided to go for the satin formula this time. The shade that I picked, is a gorgeous rosy berry shade that looks perfect for my warm, yellow skin tone. I am also quite amazed at how this shade can be worn at any time of the day  - thanks to the sheer/buildable coverage. Ever since I got it I am using it non stop and without further ado, lets jump on to the pics and swatches and my thoughts!

I am sure you got swoon by the gorgeous packaging. Even though its mostly plastic, it seems thoughtful and well executed. I have started to like the ribbon at the bottom of the lipstick. It's soo unique and the Givenchy logo just makes it soo luxe <3<3
On the downside, the packaging limits how you stack it in your lipstick case. The name of the shade will always be at the bottom. I don't know how many of you do that, but I normally keep my lipsticks shade side up, so I know which one I am picking. Since, I only have one shade, its ok for now, but considering a collection of these, I would have to pick each one of them to get to the shade I would be looking for. Tedious, isn't it? #LazyGirlProblems :D

The shade 12-Sensual Rose is described as a rose berry and that is really what it is. Pinky, rosy with a bit of berry underones. It seems slightly cool toned for me, but the sheerness makes up for it.

In the swatch above, you can clearly see, how a single swipe, reflects my skin tone and appears considerably warmer toned than the heavily swatched version (which is true to color of the bullet). It is a slightly deeper shade when layered on, but for day time, I like it sheer.

It also wears quite well on me. It lasted me up to 4 hours when heavily applied, with full color pay off. However a single swipe of this lasts only 2-3 hours!

The formula is very buttery. I really like how moisturized my lips are when its on and after I remove it. It fades evenly, without settling in fine lines or corners of the lips.

Overall, I love this formula, the shade Sensual Rose is a lovely addition to my pink lipsticks and I am absolutely loving how I can wear it at any time of the day. Its not highly long wearing but the moisturizing formula makes up for it.

You can purchase this from Sephora for C$33 . I would highly recommend that you check the expiry dates of Givenchy and Bobbi Brown lipsticks when purchasing from Sephora or Sehora.ca by entering the batch codes at www.checkfresh.com
I have had personal experiences and honestly, purchasing an expensive lipstick, just to find out that its expired or is significantly old, is so annoying. Thumbs up to Sephora's Customer Service for handling the issues patiently, but I hate to get in such situations in the first place.
