RED MUSK Perfume Oil by The Body Shop Review

Since, Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I wanted to share this fragrance from The Body Shop. Its been around for some time (holiday 2014?), but I discovered it recently. Its also my husband's favorite scent and quite honestly, I feel that anyone can wear it, especially if you've loved the White Musk range from The Body Shop, then this should be a pleasant surprise. It also makes a wonderful gift for your loved ones, this Valentines Day.

Why perfume oils? I know so many people with sensitive skin who do not prefer 'spraying' perfumes on their skin. A perfume oil is a great alternative. You just need a drop of perfume oil, rub it in between your wrist and apply to your neck, or any other pulse points. Some people like it behind the ear lobes..whatever, your taste might be, this fragrance is guaranteed to impress.

I also feel that the perfume is much more dense in an oil form, which makes it last long, so there is no need to worry about reapplying it throughout the day. I have no sensitivities to alcohol in my perfume, so for me the only benefit is the lasting power.

When I take a whiff of it, off the bottle, it seems like a pretty strong and almost too masculine for me. The heavy musky scent is way off my comfort zone. However, once rubbed in, or applied wherever, it smoothes out to a very clean, fresh scent.

The top notes are spicy cinnamon with the warmth of tobacco mixed in with the original White Musk fragrance by The Body Shop. Yeah, quite masculine it is. But it is described as a unisex fragrance, so almost anyone who likes heavier scents can wear it - its a much cleaner, fresher version. You can smell the warm woody notes and it definitely smells a lot more sophisticated than my description.

And did you notice the boxed packaging?! I love how it can be wrapped in to a gift - you just need a ribbon and a bow on top.

I think I bought if for $24 for the 30ml bottle, but currently, its for $28 for the 30 ml bottle (photographed above) at www.thebodyshop.ca

Hope you like reading this post. Let me know if you enjoy wearing spicy warm scents, like this one :)
