Sephora Birthday Gift 2022 - Tatcha Dewy Skin Review

Sephora's Birthday Gifts always excite me because they are one of those little perks that make me feel valued as a Sephora customer and I think many of us feel that way. No purchase required, if you sign up to be a Beauty Insider, you get a birthday gift each year! Though I am slowly turning against the little samples, because of the plastic packaging and more tiny products mean more packaging in the landfill. But since I will be travelling soon (*fingers crossed*), I thought its best I pick up the skincare gift from Tatcha which must come in handy during my vacation. Though in the past I had a bad experience with the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse (review here), but I always loved the purple range and the dewy skin cream, so there I have it!

CAUDALIE Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum Review

In my previous post, I shared the gel moisturizer from the Caudalie Vinosource line and how well it works to keep skin hydrated without making it oily and prevent dryness and redness on skin.  Today I will share this skincare superstar which I am finding really hard to part with. I am close to finishing the bottle of this SOS Serum and I am actually wondering if I can live without it or just move to something more potent (read: anti- wrinkle) because my skin is getting older. The sooner I find amicable products that my skin cant help but love, the better it is. So, I am writing this blog to convince myself for a repurchase of the Caudalie SOS Serum, though I am distracted by a couple of amazing antiaging serums, the light weight texture of this serum with the benefits of hyaluronic acid is making me think twice.

CAUDALIE Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet Review

I fell in love with the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet while on vacation to US and since have always made sure I had a pouch full of travel size Caudalie products every time, I flew out of country. Since flying on a plane is now a distant memory, I decided to invest in full size Caudalie products which my skin already loves. I like skincare products with organic, plant based ingredients, because they usually sit well with my changing skin conditions. You know well that I suffer from dryness and often eczema on my hands and neck and though I use mild cleansing products, often it is only micellar water, I still end up with redness on my face and if I am unable to look after my skin, it quickly turns in to a big, painful pimple.

So I switched to Caudalie Vinosource regimen and removed all other skincare treatments in hopes of making my skin look and feel its best. More on this and my minimalistic routine in today's blog. 

Dermalogica mediBac Clearing® Skin Kit Review

This four piece kit from Dermalogica is described as 'a kit for adult acne that helps treat, clear, and prevent the triggers that lead to breakouts'.  It has four essentials to cleanse and moisturize skin, namely, Clearing Skin Wash, Oil Control Lotion, Overnight Clearing Gel and Sebum Clearing Masque.
I purchased this kit from Sephora because I was sick of my frequent breakouts and wanted something that would work fast and effectively. Ever since I turned thirty, my skin is not the same. There are breakouts, pigmentation, weird dry patches and what not. It feels like everything I do or eat causes acne! I would work in the garden and there will be breakouts, working out in the gym and guess what, swollen comedones!! I am literally at the point of checking out everything in store and in my pantry to treat my skin and there was quite a bit of a learning curve in maintaining my skin's healthy pH. I will discuss all the details on that in another post, for now, lets focus on this skin clearing kit for adult breakouts from Dermalogica.

ELIZABETH ARDEN Eight Hour Cream - All Over Miracle Oil, Skin Protectant and Lip Repair Balm Review

Today I will share with you the iconic Eight Hour Cream collection from Elizabeth Arden. This legendary skincare line dates back to the 1930s and has been a huge success because of how well it performs. They can be used from head to toe for a variety of skin issues and I have literally healed my cuticles, heels and dryness on knees and elbows with these products. My absolute favorite is the All-Over Miracle Oil which is light enough to be used on face and basically anywhere I would like to heal, protect and lock in moisture. When my skin was healing from acne, I had noticeable dry patches on my face and this helped my skin recover.

NEOSTRATA Acne Clear, Glycolic Renewal Body Smoothing Lotion and Smoothing Cream Review

This year started with a bunch of new skincare products in my routine and today I am sharing my day cream, acne treatment and a glycolic body lotion that have helped me achieve beautifully smooth skin. My skin is used to AHA products, but I've never used a body lotion that contains 10% glycolic acid and I seriously regret not giving the same attention to the rest of my body as my face. Winters are brutal on my skin and with these treatments, my skin looks smoother, shinier, and I have less things to worry about. The most remarkable difference is the pores! My pores look diminished and my complexion looks brighter. I am also using a wonderful sleep mask from La Prairie that is working well for the night and these are the products I am using on my skin for the day. I like to use acne treatment at night time, but it can be used day or night.

WINTER SKINCARE FAVORITES - ft. L'Occitane, Nivea, Origins, Caudalie, Josie Maran and YSL

Its always so hard to pick my favorite skincare products and as you already know, my skin has been ultra sensitive and generally not doing great for quite a long time. However, there are some products that have helped me significantly and deserve to be showcased in a favorites post.
So, today I will share with you, skincare products that are suitable for all skin types and especially for sensitive skin. Writing this post has been difficult because there are no facial oils! I am literally restraining myself because I wanted this to be a guide for anyone who wants to take good care of their skin and would like to include some of these products in their everyday routine without worrying about side effects. I have been using these two products non-stop for quite some time now and I love the combination. It's part of the Shea Collection from L'Occitane and this Face Soothing Fluid not only has 5% Shea but is also preservative free and provides protection against pollution, skin stress and dryness. I layer this over the Face Comforting Oil at night and sometimes, I mix them together and apply to my face and neck. My skin looks smooth and fresh; its unbelievable what a few simple ingredients can do for skin. 

On a daily basis, I use the Shea Face Soothing Fluid for day time and this lightweight moisturizer does not disappoint. It keeps skin moisturized and protected all day.

VICHY AQUALIA THERMAL EXTRASENSITIVE Review

I have shared so much about my struggle with adult acne in my past blogs and seriously, I never broke out in my teens. However, I am dealing with adult acne and even though the situation is pretty much under control, I still have blemishes and redness that I wanted to get rid off. 

That's when I came across Vichy's Aqualia Thermal ExtraSensitive which is created for extra sensitive and allergy prone skin. It relieves dryness and irritation and soothes skin. The key ingredient is theVitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid that does its magic.

Having dry skin that breaks out is very tricky and its so hard to find the products that provide the hydration but not drench my skin in artificial oils and waxes that clog pores and make things worse.

BIODERMA Cicabio Soothing Repairing Cream Review

I know rashes and minor cuts on skin due to dryness, like no other person and the one product, I can totally rely on is the Cicabio. Even though it is a creme, it forms a thin layer on the top of the skin, (or a rash or  perhaps a minor skin damage), and protects and restores the epidermis. 

This fragrance free, soothing and repairing cream has antibacterial agents, (copper-zinc) that purify the epidermis and relieves the feeling of discomfort or the need to scratch it. It also contains hyaluronic acid that does wonders to the skin. 

I used the Cicabio this morning on a razor rash, on the cuticles of my nails, on the dry and damaged skin on my knuckles and I also use it after threading my eyebrows. I seriously feel that it heals the skin much faster. Its actually quite amazing and to be honest, I have had used a prescription to heal my skin for rashes and burns; it was a silver-zinc based formula. I am so happy that I can replace that with this relatively inexpensive creme that is paraben-free and can safely be used on babies, children and adults.

BIODERMA Sensibio Tolerance Plus Review

I have been sharing less and less of face creams lately, mainly because, almost everything I try seems to cause acne. And I am dealing with acne since last November so you know the struggle! As a teenager, I never had acne and adult acne is so much different then teenage acne. I am currently on prescription for that. It kinda went haywire.
I came across Sensibio Tolerance+ and I liked how it kept my skin moisturized but soon after I incorporated Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep and Life Serum in my skincare routine. I decided to use the Vichy products for night and Sensibio Tolerance+ as my day cream and I was breaking out everywhere!!

I dont even know why I kept delaying this review. I have used this for some time - mostly as a primer because I am using powder foundation these days and it sets really well on this moisturizing and slightly sticky feeling cream.
