ESTEE LAUDER DoubleWear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner in 01 Kohl Noir - Review and Swatch

Fall is around the corner and I am slowly moving towards darker, bolder hues in makeup and accessories. There is something about a dark, black eye liner that makes it such a staple in everyone's makeup stash. I am still in love with Stila's Smudge sticks and I can't imagine switching but this Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner from Estee Lauder is a wonderful option.
I have been using this for a month now and I am quite happy with it. The month of August was exceptionally hot this year but the DoubleWear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner held up well through the heat and sweat (I even wore it to gym). There is something weird about makeup at the gym; firstly you look great every time you catch a glimpse of yourself working out, but on the other hand it is gross to see your makeup melting off with sweat and transferring to the gym equipment/mats/floor - wherever you roll :D:D Just for the record, I never wear makeup to the gym.. I am completely bare faced at the gym. Its a waterproof formula so it sticks around if I do not use an eye makeup remover. So I leave that task for night time. More on this below:

As you can see from the swatch above that this eye liner can be smudged for a smokey eye look and it sets in a couple of minutes. Once set, it does not budge at all! It stays strong all day long and night. Yes, once slept with this on and I did not wake up with panda eyes the next morning. I actually started to think if I could do my liner the night before, to save on the morning crunch...just kidding - DO NOT DO THAT!  Its highly advisable to remove all eye makeup before sleeping, because it can cause infections, but I was lucky.
Lets talk about the formula. Its not the creamiest, dreamiest formula as the Stila Smudge Stick and I have to use a liner brush to smooth out the edges. Also, since the product is slightly on the stiffer side, it tends to take a few strokes to transfer over eyeshadow. It goes on a lot better on bare lids, though. The best part is that it is intensely black and it hold up perfectly all day long. That makes up for the extra minute I spend in perfecting the 'line'.
I love to use a black eye liner on my waterline, because it enhances the whites of my eyes and the Estee Lauder  DoubleWear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner is perfect on the waterline. Its much harder to remove from there but it looks great and does not irritate eyes.

Overall, I love this eye liner, it has some lows but it stays on perfectly. For me, its all about getting used to the new formula. Its a great product and it comes with a sponge tip to smudge it out. Beautiful product, must try! :)
