NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base Review, Swatches and Photos

With no more snow, we are headed for warmer temperatures this week, however, the past few days have been incredibly gloomy, cloudy and windy. It makes me so lethargic. No amount of makeup or bright scarves or even my neon orange manicure, could brighten up the day. There is something so magical about the sun...
**All I wanna say is I miss my natural lighting for pics! hahaha #BloggerProblems :P:P**

Anyways, I thought about sharing this new favourite with you guys. Its the Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. You will be shocked to see the swatches at the end of this post!

SWATCHES

The Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base retails for $29 at Sephora. Its an opaque white base that goes almost colorless when blended. It does not feel sticky or oily or anything weird. Its very smooth and easy to apply all over lids. I initially found the texture to be annoying because I was used to the silicony, tacky feel of eye primer - but definitely not any more.

When I opened this the first time, I felt that the doe-foot/sponge-tip applicator is dispensing too little product (yea..i hear you...I am coming from a tube eyeshadow primer background guys). But the amount that comes out, is good for one eyelid. I dip the applicator in, a second time, for the other eye. It took be a couple of uses before I got used to this. Trust me, I don't waste or over apply product in this way.

Apart from the initial hiccups this primer is a bomb! It makes the worst eyeshadows a rockstar. Just have a look at the swatch above a second time. That black shade is Revolver from Urban Decay's Vice 3 palette and that is just one sweep of the shade using a natural hair eyeshadow brush. Look at that transformation! Honestly, I am in love with my UD Vice 3 palette ever since I got this primer *coughs*.
It just makes every eyeshadow look vibrant, pigmented, creaseless, long wearing and smudge-proof! I have less complaints from the UD Vice 3 palette now. The color selection on that palette is fantastic and all it needed was a great primer base, like the Nars Pro Prime Eyeshadow Base!

The best thing about this eyeshadow base is that that it does not sting my lids or irritate my eyes in any way. I have normal lids (not dry, not oily) and it works great. I tried using this as a base for eyeliner and it did not disappoint. Great for lower lash line too. Its amazing to see how well it holds on to the pigments and saturates it for maximum color pay off. I did not notice my eyeshadows fading while I had this on.

This is my new HG! It definitely exceeded my expectations :)
